A quick note for ya: The Poetry page is back!

A little about this stuff? Ok.

I was born July 24th, 1985 in southern California and moved to Minnesota with my family when I was twelve. I really love it here, but I do miss home and often dream about the places I used to live.

On my art; I honestly don't know where to go with it at the moment, but it's something I will surely continue to dirty my hands in for the rest of my life. Creation through the arts, has always given me a sense of belonging that couldn't be found elsewhere. My work frequents the use of oils, acrylic and pencil to mostly depict the human form. I've sort of developed this "anti-arm and leg" approach to putting a body together. There's usually not a message behind it. I'm kind of backwards in that respect, whatever happens... happens. If the end results speak to me or someone else; right on.

Now; this whole business of guitar playing started around 8th grade, when I bought a used acoustic and picked up on how to read chords. I was never one who wanted to understand how to read music, I just wanted to play! and sing! Praise and worship songs from a youth group I attended weekly, were the first songs I learned. As far as first compositions go, I mashed a few of my poems together and "Statue of an Angel" was born. I definitely seek to expand my song writing skills (maybe find someone with the desire to co-write a few things?) and play a show or two someday... but I'm still being shy and stuff.

The pictures... I take for fun wherever I go. The world is a mysteriously beautiful place sometimes, and that goes especially for Minnesota!

Amidst all these things, poetry (and writing in general) takes up most of my time. I blog and write in notebooks constantly, constantly, always. There is ever a thought, dream or memory worth recording. Dreams can be the strangest thing to see on paper because it's in such a different form, but for the author, it's a record worth keeping. The words just happen. They are truths and they are lies.
